The first minor I chose for my semester 1 was the minor European Business. This often popular minor of Erasmus students and very global, will obviously be offered to you. I will try here to give you the best summary by telling you about my experience so that you can make your own choice.

This minor is made up of two parts, in other words you will have two blocks of classes in one semester. Some of them will follow each other as European Business Plan or Applied Ressearch Skills. But you will also discover new subjects from one block to another.

First of all, this minor is really built for exchange students. It is also the one that has the most of them. It is therefore the best way to meet Erasmus students because you will be working in group projects with them (for information on the issues involved in group projects with international students, please refer to the article in question).

So I met many of my future friends in this class which had a very relaxed atmosphere and especially an accessible level of English which kept me from being lost.

A minor built for Erasmus means a relatively light schedule compared to other minor in Hanze. Note that this one still requires a little work (compared to some other DUETI. Ok I wouldn't denounce it... Vilnius).

I reassure you it's nothing compared to the pace you experienced at the IUT Paris Descartes, you will overcome without any problems I'm sure.

Secondly, the different courses are designed in such a way as to promote the improvement of English-speaking. Indeed, in addition to the English courses that can be taken, the different courses often require group projects and oral presentations, debates... This definitely promotes interaction and therefore your improvement in English.

The second block is only made up of group projects, so you won't have to take any written exams at the end, which is quite nice.

Finally, this minor will propose something quite similar to the "Projet Tutoré" through the European Business Plan: To realize missions for a company.

Indeed I had the opportunity to carry out missions for a Dutch meat company that wanted to export itself to the UAE. So I had to do research on the country, call embassies, contact agents, which was very instructive and very concrete.

However, it should be mentioned, that this minority is still very broad and that some subjects are really uninteresting. Even if the second block is better than the first one with more interesting classes like Innovation Experience or Business Culture, I don't feel I have learned a lot of new things about business thanks to this minor.

To conclude, even if I was not fully satisfied with the knowledge of the minor European Business, I do not regret my choice. In fact this minor enabled me to meet a lot of Erasmus students to whom I stayed very close, to improve my English very quickly and above all it gave me the time to develop my outdoor activities.
